Mechanical Properties of Ductile Iron Pipes

Ductile iron properties are the result of the adjunction of a small quantity of magnesium to the grey iron. After adjunction of magnesium to the iron, carbon crystallizes into graphite spheres enhancing the exceptional mechanical properties of the Ductile or Spheroidal Graphite Iron. In addition to excellent yield strength, it offers excellent tensile strength and impact strength, Ductile Iron is keeping all the corrosion resistant properties already known with grey iron.

Laboratory tests applied to SVOBODNY SOKOL Ductile Iron Pipe production fully comply with the required mechanical properties:
DI Pipes SVOBODNY SOKOL nominal size DN 80 to DN 1000

PARAMETER VALUE
Minimum Tensile Strength MPa 420
Minimum Yield point MPa 300
Minimum Breaking Elongation % 10
Brinell Hardness not exceeding HB 230
